Brief of the signing ceremony between CIIT and National Center for Physics (NCP), Islamabad
A landmark agreement between National Centre for Physics, Islamabad and COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) was signed on 4rth of June, 2010.

The signing took place in the conference room of CIIT, Islamabad at a formal event attended by Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi Rector CIIT, Dr Hamid Saleem Director General NCP, Dr Ishfaq Ahmad, Former Chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, a famous physicist and scientist, Dr. Imtinan Elahi Qureshi (Executive Director COMSATS) and various Faculty Members from Department of Physics along with students.

The MoU was inked by Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi and Dr Hamid Saleem in the presence of Dr Ishfaq Ahmad and Dr. Imtinan Elahi Qureshi

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ishfaq Ahmad stated that it was an immense pleasure for him to be part of such a celebrated ceremony and he was greatly pleased and euphoric about the recently developed partnership between CIIT and NCP. He expressed his wish that the NCP will certainly benefit from this collaboration in a gigantic manner.

The National Centre for Physics (NCP) started its scientific activities on January 27, 1999 by holding a one day symposium on Frontiers of Fundamental Physics. NCP was inaugurated by Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad, on May 16, 2000. NCP hosts workshops, conferences and symposia on subjects related to Physics and Mathematics. In addition, the Centre carries out research in areas that are not covered by any other Institute of Physics. One such area being pursued by the Centre involves a number of activities in Experimental High-Energy Physics through a co-operative agreement with CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

This MoU is expected to be remunerative and would certainly develop into a full-fledged and robust interaction between CIIT and NCP in the near future.
